About to buy an ipod - help! Advice..?

I have had a Sony walkman mp3 for many years and it has been excellent but now I want something with bigger storage but most of all something that doesn't rely on sonicstage software as it is a pain in the proverbial. I need it mostly for music, but would also like to listen to podcasts from radio, bbc iplayer etc. (not in realtime but downloaded to ipod) Which ipod do I need? I don't want a wifi connection for realtime I want to store on the ipod and listen direct from there. Thanks,

iPods are fine, but a tiny bit fussy with iTunes software... try one of these instead: http://www.sansa.com/players/sansa_clip Award winning sound made by Samsung

If you are not watching movies then an ipod nano would be perfect. The ipod nano also comes in tons of fun colors. if you do want to watch movies and have a ridiculous amount of storage, i would recommend the ipod classic.

I would say an iPod Classic or iPod Touch, both have good memory (The Classic has more), and also have many more functions. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod?mco=MTIwOTM
