Accessing Comcast Email on the Go
You have Comcast Internet at home, but you aren’t always home, which means that you need to find a way to access your Comcast email on the go. It’s easy to access your XFINITY email from your mobile device and have your emails at the touch of your finger.
XFINITY Connect app
XFINITY Comcast has a downloadable app that lets you access your subscribed services onto your mobile device. The XFINITY Connect app lets you access your email, voice mail and address book.
The application will let you send and receive text messages using your telephone number, if you have subscribed to Comcast phone services. This is a great feature that helps cut down on your wireless plan costs. With a Comcast Cable service subscription you will have access to TV listings and the XFINITY On Demand videos. On some devices you will also be able to manage your Comcast account.
Simply download the program from the appropriate app store and enter your Comcast email address and password. Once you’ve entered this basic information, the program will set you up.
Using XFINITY Connect App
Now that you have the application, it would probably be a good idea if you knew how to use it. Don’t be discouraged by all the different tabs, this actually makes it a lot easier for you to navigate.
This view gives you a list of your latest voice, text and email messages. By default it is set at the maximum of 25 messages, arranged by the time they were received.
Shows you the last 25 email messages. You can access more messages by tapping where it says “Load More Messages.”
This tab shows you the details of your last 25 voicemails.
This is the list of your latest conversations, not necessarily all the latest text messages. An old conversation can appear near the top of the list if it has the majority of the most recent text messages within it. Remember that this list of text messages is based off of your XFINITY Home Phone number, it is not the text message conversations done over your mobile carrier.
No App? No Problem
If your phone is not capable of downloading the app, or you just don’t want to download it, then you can still access your Comcast email using your mobile device. This only works if your mobile device has web browsing capabilities. The problem with this method is that your phone provider may charge you to access the Internet, so check your plan first.
1. Open the phones web browser
2. Enter the web address m.comcast.net
3. Sign in with your Comcast ID and password
Get Comcast Email on the Road
You are on the road and the only mobile device you have is your company cell phone. If they are like a lot of companies, they won’t let you download unauthorized apps, which means that you can’t read your personal email. Don’t despair, your Comcast email is still easy to access while on the road, and all you need is a computer. You can use your laptop, or the courtesy one in the hotel. You just need a web browser.
Once you have the browser open, go to www.xfinity.com and then just click “Sign In.” All you need to do now is enter your Comcast ID and password. If you are using a public computer make sure the box that says “Remember me” is NOT checked — you don’t need a stranger accessing your email.
Can’t Remember Your Name?
If you are like a lot of us, you’re so used to being automatically logged in by your own computers that you don’t remember your username. You type your password every time, but the username tends to stay there, so you don’t even think about it.
Comcast has the solution for you, just use their lookup tool. After you click on it you will be asked for your account number. Comcast realizes that you might not be home and don’t always have a bill with you for reference, so they give you the option to enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number and the phone number associated with the account instead.
Once you’ve correctly entered the required information, they will give you Comcast email access and a reminder of your username for next time you need to log in.
