Overseas Residents Lose VPN Access to Netflix

There are multiple reports that Netflix has begun to block users attempting to log in through VPN access, hoping to skirt the companies geoblocks on its service in the United States.

For a while now, movie studios and rights holders have been lobbying for Netflix to block their U.S. version of their service to users outside of the region.

VPN use apparently violates the terms of the company’s service. Companies that license the product outside of the United States were losing out.
