Cablevision Offers Optimum Cable

Cablevision’s shares spiked up to 18 percent Wednesday, partially due to the news that Altive SA is buying Suddenlink Communications, which has some guessing Cablevision is the next MSO to be purchased.

Cablevision controls 3.1 million customers, including 2.7 million Pay TV subscribers, mostly in the suburban areas around New York City.

If another firm were to step in and buy Time Warner Cable, which has the Manhattan territory, then it would make sense that Cablevision would also be purchased.
