Smartphones Now Get Access to Comcast’s TV Everwhere App
Comcast officially decided to allow their XFINITY TV Go app for iOS and Android smartphones to expand the authenticated playability of the Cable TV service provider’s collection of live programming and their Video On Demand shows and movies.
This means that people will be able to watch TV shows and movies available on the TV Everywhere app. But everyone’s also going to have to watch their data caps much more closely, since they’ll be watching TV and movies over cellular networks, as opposed to Wi-Fi networks. Of course, if they have access to public Wi-Fi, they’d be better served running their app off of that. But as Melani Griffith, an executive from Penthera, said, “There are 19,000 American cities, and we are a long way off before [free public Wi-Fi] is available everywhere, and I don’t think it ever will be.â€
Available on a cellular data network, the TV Everywhere app can be downloaded at iTunes or at the Google Play store.
