Recode.net reports that Sony plans to cut their TV and mobile phone product lines in order to cut costs over the next three years. They hope that the multi-billion dollar revenue they make from their PlayStation 4 gaming console and image sensor businesses make up some of the difference.

With Apple and Samsung cutting into Sony’s consumer electronics market, Sony said its goal is to turn a profit on TV and smartphones, even if their sales dip up to 30 percent.

“We’re not aiming for size or market share but better profits,” Sony’s newly appointed chief of its mobile division Hiroki Totoki said at an investors’ conference.
