Twitter Adds Music to Timelines

Twitter is introducing what they’re referring to as an “Audio Card” format that will allow users to play some music files on mobile devices through SoundCloud.

Apple is also involved, and they’ll allow certain iTunes tracks to be available through this Audio Card system.

For instance, the band Foo Fighters recently tweeted out the first song, “Something From Nothing,” from their new album, “Sonic Highways.”

This allows users to pre-order unreleased songs, along with some of popular already released music, directly from iTunes.
